Dear Brothers,
I am a little late with my Gamma Lambda Chapter Specific Scholarship Fund ("CSSF") solicitation for this year. Work matters are taking priority.
I am pleased to report that through the generous contributions of the Gamma Lambda Chapter Alumni Brothers at the University of Denver, and a sound investment policy, our CSSF continues to grow. For the 9 months ended March 31, 2010, (2009-2010 fiscal year), our results are:
$ 1,225.00 Contributions
$ 2,047.81 Gain on Investments
$ 3,649.65 Change in Net Assets
$ 17,645.62 Total Net Assets
Once again, Brothers, I am asking each of you to consider a tax-deductible gift of at least $100 to our CSSF this year. Those alumnus Brothers who are able to contribute more, your gift is always warmly welcomed and very much appreciated. Those alumnus Brothers who cannot contribute at the $100 level, are encouraged to participate at your comfort level. The important thing is that we are doing this together. Every dollar counts and every dollar is invested providing a return. We started the CSSF years ago and if I recall correctly, we had a little over $1,000 our first year. Look how we have grown by a consistent annual solicitation and prudent investment decisions! I am so glad we started when we did!
The procedure to contribute is the same as in year's past. Please make your tax-deductible check payable to: "Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, Inc." (I trust you know that I currently serve as President of our national Foundation, so support from my Chapter Brothers is especially important to me). In the Memo Section of the check, please write: "Gamma Lambda CSSF."
Please mail the check to me at the address below. I batch the checks and periodically send them off to the IHQ in Indianapolis, IN., where they will be acknowledged.
Many of you know that the Chapter while alive and kicking, is fairly small and we no longer have a house on campus. Nonetheless, it should be an incentive to giving in this effort, rather than an impediment. Our undergraduate Brothers on the campus are working hard to build the Chapter up. By donating this year to the CSSF, you show the undergraduate Brothers our support as alumni of a very proud Chapter in Theta Chi Fraternity's history. Indeed, that we, as a Chapter, have scholarship money available to our members should help our undergraduate Brothers in their recruitment ("Rush" ) efforts. This, in turn should serve to strengthen our numbers and, eventually, enable us to have a Fraternity House back on the University of Denver campus. Something that should be the goal of every Gamma Lambda Chapter alumnus member.
Thank you Brothers for your consideration of this request. I have every confidence that you will step up to the challenge as you always have.
A quick aside, some of the Brothers from the late 60's and early 70's had an impromptu gathering in San Francisco, CA. in the past week. Brother Warren Welch, our excellent Web-master, has posted a picture of the intrepid group on the Chapter web-site.
I trust all is well with everyone and my best to you all.

Brothers,
I typically solicit for the Gamma Lambda Chapter Specific Scholarship Fund ("CSSF") around Founders' Day on April 10. However, due to the economic conditions prevailing at that time, I decided to defer it a bit and see what happens to the economy. Personally, I am beginning to see things pick up, the market is beginning to move consistently in the upward direction, client activity is picking up, so I thought I would strike while the iron is hot.
We do need to support our undergraduate Brothers. As many of you know, the Chapter, after thriving in the late 1990's and into the early 2000's, is struggling. However, I remain ever optimistic that the Brothers will "cycle up" again. Gamma Lambda has been in down-cycles before and we always rise again with effective leadership. I am confident that one day a young man with the leadership abilities of a: Tim McCaughey, a Matt Randolph or a Nick Sauer, (not to slight the many other Chapter Presidents and Executive Boards who did yeoman's jobs in leading Gamma Lambda Chapter over the years) will join our Chapter and lead it back to the stature our Chapter enjoyed on the University of Denver campus when we were undergraduates. That the Chapter can offer our CSSF scholarship money to potential members can only help our rebuilding efforts.
Again, I will ask each of you to consider a $100.00 tax deductible contribution to strengthen the coffers of our CSSF scholarship fund for the undergraduates in Gamma Lambda Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity at the University of Denver. However, donations in smaller or larger amounts are cheerfully accepted. Currently, as of April 30, 2009 we have $13,574.00 in our CSSF account.
The check should be made payable to: "Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, Inc." In the memo section of your check write: "Gamma Lambda CSSF". Please send the check to me at the following address:
